Please join us for the third installment in our four part
We're continuing our workshop series on December 4 with Managing Financial Risk in Organic Grain Farming. This workshop will provide the most up-to-date information available on loans, grants, and insurance products available for organic grain production.
Many farmers look to organic grain farming because of the potential for price premiums and new markets. However, achieving financial success in organic farming can be elusive. Avoiding risk in production and marketing is critical for the foundation of a successful organic grain operation, but organic growers must also establish appropriate financial risk management for their businesses.
Rich Ritter, Vice President of Agricultural Lending for Flanagan State Bank, will lead an extensive discussion about the current outlook for cash flows in organic operations, the positive experiences of the many organic growers he has surveyed over the past two years, and how traditional lenders such as Flanagan State Bank are seeing and adapting to the investment opportunity presented by organic grain producers.
Participants will also have the option to tour nearby PrairiErth Farm after the workshop.
