Towards the end of the summer, we have our farmers keep an eye out for funny looking fruits and veggies in the field and have our customers vote on their favorites. From twisty colorful peppers to a pumpkin with a backstory and a heroic history, our farmers have really gotten into the fun, creating characters, and even bringing me fun finds like this year’s Mousetato–a sweet potato from Meyer Produce that was given to me on the first day of the 2018 season and made it well into the summer.
