Excitement fills the air! Farmers are gathering from across the region to discuss organic grains and how we grow this industry. I, personally, am brimming with anticipation of meeting the amazing farmers who are dedicated to growing organic grains in Illinois and Indiana. It takes a special person to commit to transitioning to organic production. It can be a lonely and confusing endeavor. But, in working together, finding and building community, organic grain farmers are thriving!This is the fourth installment in our organic grains risk management series. And, attending each one reminds me just how amazing our local farmers are! I’m going to keep this week’s blog short, and just say, I hope to see you on Thursday, 2/16, for our organic grains workshop. Not only will you get to mingle with nationally renowned farmers like Jeff Moyer, you’ll get to mingle with the greats of central Illinois. Come, meet you neighbor, make a friend, and thrive together.
