The Land Connection is pleased to announce we have received funding from the UNFI Foundation and United Way of Champaign County. Funding will support the Champaign Farmers Market through 2020 and help us support food access programs during the winter months.
The UNFI Foundation is providing funding to enable the Champaign Farmers Market to build a stronger Market Seedlings program that engages children and families from our community at the Market. They are also supporting the purchase of necessary equipment and supplies to operate the Market and its community programs.
United Way of Champaign County is providing funding to grow the food budgets of SNAP and WIC recipients. Their funding will support our Double SNAP Match, Triple LINK Tuesdays, End-of-Month Bonus, and Winter Bonus programs. Their funding will also support a new program to help those that are a part of the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). They have also provided us with funding assistance to help promote these beneficial incentive programs within our community.
The Land Connection would like to like to thank both the UNFI Foundation and United Way of Champaign County for supporting the Champaign Farmers Market and our work in food access in the local community.
