All too frequently, farmers and their employees are injured on the job, both by accidents and by wear and tear on their bodies. In this workshop, we will cover proper lifting techniques, nutrition, recovery, breathing drills (hands-on), body mechanics, yoga for farmers (hands-on), OSHA for farmers, packhouse hazards (scavenger hunt), and assessing risk on your farm (self-assessment) and discuss how corrective actions can be built into your employee manual and safety plan. The workshop is going to be packed with a ton of great information, tips and tricks, and some easy routines and procedures to implement on your farm to ensure that you and your employees are all operating safely. Lunch will be provided by Epiphany Farms.
