The holiday season is upon us!
Yes, Thanksgiving is in two days and yes, Christmas decorations have been in stores for over a month already. But don’t get too fed up with the holidays just yet because the holidays are really about food, friendship, and family.
Food is what brings family and friends together, to share in each others’ company, and enjoy the close of the year. Now, when there is this much pressure around food, you can slip into the easy go-to’s or buy store-prepared fare for your celebrations. I’m here to beg you to think outside the box! Visit a farmers market and shop local this season. There are so many wonderful ingredients (honey, vegetables, meat, eggs, cheese, herbs, flour, grains) that you can get right in your area that will connect your meal back to your community and the earth.
In order to encourage and inspire you this holiday season, we wanted to put together some links to some of the specialty crop resources and recipes that we have available on our website. Soon we’ll have an entire specialty crop resource portal for you to access, but for now, ENJOY!
